Cruising the Danube has been on top of my travel wish list for quite some time, based on history, architecture, food and many other considerations. The Avalon Cruise Director was world class, the beds and linens were quite comfy and high quality, the itinerary and excursions were interesting and executed flawlessly and the chef presented many dishes combining flavors and textures which expanded my culinary horizons. The menu reflected the local cuisine as well as including traditional favorites for the American palate. The staff onboard was attentive and proactively looked to be of assistance to guests on every level. This cruise was my second with Avalon and I am already looking for my next adventure on another Avalon river cruise. A reminder to travelers in this area of the world, American Express is not preferred nor widely accepted, and make sure to bring enough Euros in Vienna as "cash is king". I did not utilize the fitness area however the hot tub on the top deck was perfect after a long day of sightseeing.
Super comfortable and ample storage. Slept like a baby!
