This was a back to back cruise on the Majestic Princess both leaving from Southhampton in September and then disembarking in New York starting in October of 2022. On this 22 day cruise the crew were always polite and tried to help. Problem was, that for most of them, this was their first cruise and had very little information of areas of the ship or even what was located where. Also, the public crew was minimal at best. The food was OK but not what should be expected for Princess. Problem, ports of call did not have their usual suppliers for food purveyors were no longer available due to the pandemic. However,Princess did research new ones to take their place. Consequently, they ran out of certain foods and over served the same foods trying to make it in a different manner. If you like High Schools musicals and recitals, you would have loved the entertainment - enough said. Picking a cruise, we like to find ones that visit ports, that for the most part, we had not been to. We to like visit the places of interest, local stores of all kinds, mom and pop restaurants, as well meet and talk with the locals. These expectations were not allowed to happen because Princess docked in several cities, such as cities in Norway, that since their inception, by law, are closed on Sundays. Finally upon docking two days early in New York, all the channels on the television were shut off and no live entertainment was available. LuckIly (?) some food was still available until normal disembarking day. Yes, I did write a letter to Customer Service Princess Cruises. I did state all of the above including that we felt somewhat cheated due to the fact that they docked at cities known to be closed ( no bus, little taxi service, no stores open, no attractions open, and no locals roaming the streets) there by not allowing their passengers to get to know the cities. Most of the passengers, including us, who got off at the ports returned to the ship within the hour because everything was closed. I emailed my letter and sent by mail on two different dates, with return receipt, to Princess Customer Service including a request for a reply. Our travel agent also did the same. To this date, neither of us have received a reply of any type. Not great Customer Service !
