I chose this cruise because I figured Viking would be a safe option to see Egypt.

There were many great things about the cruise - The sights were wonderful. All free excursions were worthwhile. Paid excursions not so wonderful. Had a light show one - definitely not worth it. Friends said bazaar option was not worth it either - too crowded and pushy vendors.... Viking used various methods of transportation and these were fun - had horse and buggy ride, "jungle cruise" ride, falucca ride (sailboat), and optional camel ride (do the camel ride - fun and great pictures!). Loved the way they divided the boat into three groups and we stayed in these groups the whole time touring - got to know these people, rather than just having acquaintances.... Tour guides were excellent, very knowledgeable.

Do bring lots of American cash - everyone accepts it. Most souvenirs cost around $5 to $10 American. Don't worry about your clothing. Never needed to cover our heads. Do expect to get inundated with vendors at each stop - gets rather tiring after a while.

Explorer Suite with Veranda

Not sure what they stand for. We were on the bottom floor and it was just fine. Actually rather cool since we were on the water line.
