This was my third Norwegian cruise in 12 months. This was a very disappointing cruise compared to the first two on other ships. Upon getting onboard our room was ready. So that was lovely. The room was covered in a thin layer of dust and old raffle tickets and items from park west were under the bed, where they remained the rest of the cruise. After they accidentally put us on the wrong cruise then switch us back, our balcony room was given away and we were given a window room on four. Four smells strangely of sewage which I expect is a result of the ship being nearly 25 years old. Everything in the room was sub par. The sheets were thing and scratchy, the pillows low quality, and the shower curtain grimy. The food at the buffet was the lowest quality I’ve seen on a cruise ship. It’s essentially Waffle House, but I expected better. Actually Waffle House is better. The fruit was bruised, the toppings were sparse. The waffles were soggy. Everything was over salted. Very little was actually edible. The dining room serves the same food as the buffet, just plated. I challenge any Ncl executive to come on this boat and try to live off of the food they are serving. Thank god we were in Nassau the second day, I ate all meals off the ship. The third day we were to be at ncls private island in the Bahamas but strong winds made tendering impossible so it turned into a sea day. There is nothing to do on this ship other than lay by the pool or go in the smoke filled casino, so we laid by the pool. The music was tolerable, the crowd on the boat was a little rough (some yelling and twerking), the bars and restaurants are understaffed. I will say the little staff that was on the boat were hustling. I never saw them stop, it’s just that there should have been twice as many. Getting a drink is a 20 minute to hour situation because of the short staffing. The ship overall felt tied and dirty. The bathrooms had overflowing trash cans, urine on the floors, and smelled awful. They did not have upgrade to avoid touching surfaces, nor did the buffets. There is spots of rust around and the windows on the deck are cloudy and foggy. Disembarking was a mess. We went to self disembark and were put in a like which wasn’t supervised. When they decide to let everyone off, some of the crowd ran to the front, cutting everyone who had been waiting off. No one was around to do anything about it. I would not recommend this cruise to anyone. This ship needs retired.
