We have taken a number of ocean cruises, and this was our first river cruise. I had a meeting in Vienna, so we decided to fly to Bucharest and take the Danube cruise up river to Budapest.
The rooms are extremely well designed. The drawers were deep enough to hold my suitcase, and there was enough clearance below the bed to fit my wife’s larger luggage.
The food on board was quite good, with the sit down dinner service outstanding. Presentation and taste were quite impressive.
We were in balcony cabin 2**. Balcony on Emerald Star is a large window that drops down. Not a true balcony, but works very well, and results in a larger room.
Outstanding city with an excellent food scene. Caju was one of the best dining experiences we have had. Old town is fun to explore.
A bit of a disappointment. The old fort overlooking the Danube we interesting, but the Tito museum and new Orthodox church were so/so.
