I choose this cruise because of my 87 year old aunt, someone in her age group told her that they like Princess and that’s the one they use. There were issues from the time we made it to embarkment, it was a disaster the lines were wrapped around and issues with having enough porters to handle the luggage. Once aboard the ship, the steward assigned to our room introduced herself and I explained to her that my safe was locked with my valuables in it and it would not open back up. It took someone two hours to come and I could not leave. The ship was supposed to leave Los Angeles at 4:00 pm but they did not get fuel until late so the ship did not leave until after 8:00 pm.
Princess excursion are very over priced and not worth what you received. Pearl Harbor & Honolulu City Tour $149.95, Germaine’s Luau $279.95, Easy Hilo, Explore Hilo Town and Highlights $109.95, Easy Maui Tropical Plantation & Maui Ocean Center $129.95, Easy Panoramic Kauai, Opeakaa Falls Plantation and Train $149.95 and Ensenada City Drive and Mexican Folkloric Fiesta $49.95 these are the per person’s prices.
The Luau was not worth what Princess charge for it, at best I felt max it should have been a $150.00. I even pulled them up on the internet and the package that we had was $150.00. The up charge on the excursion that Princess placed on them and everything, I felt like they were trying to make up for the loss revenue from the pandemic. In Maui there was a problem with the tenders and a shortage of tenders, so it took 2 1/2 hours to get back on the ship. The Robert’s Tour Hawaii tour bus broke down twice, on the Pearl Harbor Tour.
The cabin was on Caribe Deck 10 mid ship port side with a balcony, during the cruise they were working on the cabin one floor down so it was very noisy. The steward for my room didn’t do anything special or go over and beyond for service.
