We chose the Rhine Getaway as a make-up from a previously cancelled cruise. We did a pre-extension in Amsterdam. Great tours in Amsterdam, loved the city, loved the hotel.... Pulitzer Amsterdam. Viking cruise itself was outstanding. Great crew, great service, very organized, no problems whatsoever. Very good excisions throughout the voyage. Loved all of it! Tour to Keukenhof Gardens was fantastic, so beautiful even on a cold, rainy day. Then off to Kinderdijk. We took the vintage barge to see the windmills. Thoroughly enjoyed this! Next off to Cologne. We chose the rickshaw tour. This would be the only thing we were disappointed in. Very difficult to hear guide, especially when windy, as it was. Koblenz was next. Beautiful city. We went to an authentic German dinner in Rudesheim. Very fun, lots of great music, dancing, food was good, not great. We visited Speyer next and went to the famous chocolate shop. Outstanding. Other stops in Strasbourg and Colmar, France, the finished at the Black Forest, Germany before the cruise ended in Basal, Switzerland. Would highly recommend this particular Viking cruise!
