This ship is very elegant. the colors of white, silver and lots of mirrors throughout. The room is spacious with all amenities. Body wash, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, shower cap, hair dryer, plush bathrobes and slippers and a nice bottle of water everyday in your room. Down service with chocolates on your pillow. Breakfast and lunch are buffet style and dinner is served. The food is symbolic to Portugal, meaning lots of pork, and fresh seafood, Sardines being their specialty. They do have a vegetarian entree every day along with Salmon and steak for those who prefer a traditional fare for dinner. Wine and beer all you want during meals. In between you are charged for drinks of any kind. They do have a drink package on board if you prefer. The tours are nice and most days you must be ready by 8:30AM to get on the bus. Most towns are not right there, so you will have a bus ride with most. This river is not like the others. Much more slower pace, so I do not recommend it as your first river cruise. Portugal is definitely SNEAKER country. Most roads are tiled, or paved and are steep going up then down, lots of stairs with all the monuments and places of interests. You also will be going through 5 locks, and that was interesting. Very narrow ones. We enjoyed this cruise very much. The Staff was young, energetic and very pleasant. Wifi was fine. They have coffee, tea and cookies all day for your enjoyment. A small fitness center ad a small pool on top deck. The wineries are all very nice and most will ship your purchase if 6 bottles or more. We enjoyed this cruise on the Douro river very much and Emerald was very nice.
The cabin was nice. We had everything we needed. The only thing missing was a blanket.
