The layout of the Avalon rooms is unique with the bed facing a wall of panoramic windows. Looking at all of the other cruise lines as we traveled, Avalon was fresh, modern and well-kept. The local excursions were led by guides living in the area who brought history to life, personable and fun. The food and wine was tailored daily to reflect the local cuisine tor the country being visited. The staff was completely customer focused with an exceptional cruise director and house manager. We especially like the fact that each day had a choice in excursions, which included more active hiking/biking, classic walking tours, (which were divided to include a gentler walking option) and cultural options like food tours and concerts. Great value tor the amenities. All logistics were handled well, on time, including boxed food for those of us leaving at 3:30 a.m. to catch an early flight..We’d definitely choose Avalon again.
