My wife and I had been wanting to take a Virgin Voyage cruise for a little while now. We received a nice offer from them and decided to take advantage of it.

Prior to the cruise they tell you to get the app so that you can book restaurants, which is a bit of a new concept, but we obliged...for weeks, nothing was available to be booked, then when it finally populated (maybe a week or two before embarkation), I only knew things were available to book because of a facebook group I was in. However, even though the items had just populated, there was no open time slots for any dining. We checked back throughout the week and only once was a slot available - a 9:15 pm reservation at a restaurant we were not interested in, so we took our chances and let that one pass.

Onboarding went relatively smoothly, though there was a bit of a wait, it wasn't too terrible. We were able to immediately get into our rooms which was nice with our luggage already there. We enjoyed sail away around the (awkwardly small) main pool, and then went to find something to eat. We hoofed it between 3 different restaurants before we were able to get in. Luckily, we were able to book times for later days at 2 of those restaurants. After an admonishment that we should have had reservations, we were finally seated at Pink Agave - food was great as well as the staff.

Cozumel

We went on the Chichen Itza excursion - this was a LONG excursion and HOT. Our tour guide was great but it was a lot of travel for a very short excursion
