We booked our tour with Uniworld based on our previous experience with them. There was a problem with the air portion of our trip which Uniworld had arranged. However, once we got to Budapest everything was just what we have come to expect from Uniworld. The Maria Theresa is a beautiful ship with plenty of elegance to spoil you during your cruise. The staff was always on hand to do whatever was needed to make sure you wanted for nothing. After ordering a drink the first afternoon, both Miaro and Nicolina knew our drink order and had it ready by the time we sat down. Unbelievable service! The local guides employed by Uniworld were tremendous with both their knowledge and ability to meet the needs of our groups regardless of the size. Breakfast and lunch were buffet which had something different each day and was always being refreshed with plenty of food. The beer and wine were also flowing freely at lunch and you could always have a mimosa at breakfast if you chose. Dinner was served each night with open seating of table of 2,4, or 6. They also have two larger tables that could you used for larger parties. There was a set menu each night with the chef's recommendations and other offerings. Of course you could mix and match anything that you wanted. The wine selection changed each day as we moved from different regions of a country or one county to the next. There was a briefing each night before dinner which gave you information about the next day's tours. You could also get this from the daily planne,r on the TV or on your smart phone with the QR reader found at the front desk. The workout area is small but with two treadmills and two bikes it gets the job done if you are interested in doing a workout. The pool is also small but does have the power jet to keep you in place while you swim. It is not a strong jet but again works if you are trying to get some exercise in the water. The bottom line is that this is an awesome ship with an even better crew. You will be treated right if you take the Maria Theresa on the Enchanting Danube cruise.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Stateroom with Open-Air Balcony

The room is 194 sq ft and you can use every inch of it, including storing you bags under the bed. The bedding is very high quality and the night time comforter is almost too warm, depending on how low you set your thermostat. The bathroom is very spacious, and the heated towel rack and floor are a nice touch for the cool mornings. There is plenty of storage with two different areas to hang clothes and four large pullout drawers. There are several shelves at different levels to place other miscellaneous items. The electric outlets all have built-in USB and work with both American and European plugs. We loved the French Balcony as it was an added plus increasing your cabin space. The area can be enjoyed rain or shine unlike an outdoor balcony.

Budapest

We did a food tour and loved it. Secret food Tours was outstanding. The old underground hospital is a do not miss when you visit Budapest.
