Price was great but you get what you pay for. I do not think that MSC is ready for American primetime. Internet technology that is hit and miss. Internet did not work half the time, apps that did not work, card keys that did not function, and electronic billing that was all over the place. Customer service was terrible. Stand in line for an hour and get a shrug, and we will fix it before the cruise ends. Long lines everywhere of irate cruisers waiting at bars, restaurants, and shows. The ship is very understaffed ! Luggage shows up at 10pm due to lack of porters, bars with 50 customers and 2 bartenders, one waitress for a whole bar area, and customers service lines 50 deep with one staff member. What staff they have is untrained, and most barely speak English, and can not understand basic requests or questions. The ship pool areas shuts down at 9pm, and bars close at the same time. With the exception of the theater shows there is no entertainment except for some clown jumping up and down chanting " we sing "la la la la" "now dance cha cha cha cha", or playing 3rd world music trivia. Food? Lets just say that it is not to American tastes...we like our bacon cooked, hot food served hot and cold food cold. We do not do our evening meal at 930pm, nor do we expect the buffets to be closed early or at random times. We like our coffee in the morning, and not have to wait until 730, or travel around the mega ship trying to find an open venue. We want our beer cold and booze in our mixed drinks. Their pride and joy island is probably wonderful to someone who has never seen the ocean but to many of us it is just another beach with lots of rocks, and a couple of food trucks. To sum it up: If they want to flourish in the American market with their ships homeported here, they have to up their game a lot ! The crew that interacts with the passengers should at least understand English and have an understanding of American customs . Current management is clueless.....
