In 2015 we had cruised the Royal Princess in the Caribbean for 10 days and it was wonderful. The ship was less that two-years old, lots of activities, the food was great, service superior, and the ship shinned from stem to stern. It was very sad to see the declines of this once great line. The service is still very good, but the ship looks worn, and the only good food to be found was in Sabatini's. Activities were largely only in the Piazza. While this is an excellent dancing venue, it was rather chaotic for Zumba and other activities which are better suited to the Vista Lounge and Lido Deck. Generally, the entertainment was only in the Princess Theater why the Vista Lounge remained vacant except for Bingo, the Platinum and Elite lounge from 5:30-6:30 (this has always been a two hour event on other Princess ships). Fortunately there were 4 ports to visit because life on board was more like a retirement home than a vacation.

Food & Beverage Service. Dine My Way reservations were a complete failure for the first two days of the cruise. We had a 7:00 PM reservation and never saw a table before 7:45. We were longing for the days of the fixed 5:30 and 8:00 seating where everything went smoothly. After speaking with the restaurant manager, we were reseated for the remainder of the cruise with an excellent team of waiters and dined on time for the remainder of the cruise. The food as others have stated is mediocre except for the Prime Rib while not at the level of House of Prime Rib, was very good.

We dined twice at Sabatini's and found the food excellent and the service superior. I am very tempted to dine only at Sabatini's on our next Princess cruise.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Balcony

I would recommend this room to anyone. The steward, Florente is fantastic in all ways and tended our needs, often before we even asked.
