We have done a number of cruises in the past, but the last one was over 23 years ago. We thought we would give cruises another go, and this four night one seemed just the job to see if we wanted to start cruising again. What a disappointment, I was so looking forward to Sky Princess and had such good expectations after seeing so many excellent you tube reviews but our experience was so disappointing. We had a check in time of 11 to 11.30 and arrived at Southampton at 10.50 to be told to "to go away and have a coffee somewhere because there not ready to board yet ?" We went back at 11.20 to get stuck in a huge queue till 12.50, total mayhem. When we boarded the ship I've never seen so many people rushing and pushing about in my life, we tried to let it go over our head but there were queues everywhere we couldn't get a seat and finally got two seats up the corner of "Princess Live" and stopped one of two waiters to ask for two drinks, they were running around like headless chickens. 30 minutes later we got our drinks, only bottled beer nothing awkward, later we asked for two more, never got them. We had the princess plus package which allowed up to 15 drinks per day the most we ever used was 4 for me and 5 for my husband in a day and that was because we couldn't get served and the app was useless, we ordered drinks, it said they were delivered but they were not delivered to us. We never got chance for icecreams or speciality coffees. The ship was grossly understaffed and most of the waiters couldn't be bothered or were just plain rude. The room steward was lovely and did an excellent job and all of the stewards we met were very friendly.

The ship herself was gorgeous, the rooms ( we had a balcony room on deck 11) were lovely and comfortable, spotlessly clean, the ship everywhere was beautiful and clean. The problem is, it's a very large ship, much bigger than anything we went on years ago, but even though it's big there are too many people on them probably made worse by not enough staff. The entertainment was a joke, no shows, just a comedian for 45 minutes one night, and a Elton John trio another night again 45 minutes and done, last night was a repeat of Elton John and comedian.I will do another cruise but will make sure it's a smaller ship.
