Our Emerald cruise along the Douro River was excellent, with beautiful scenery and an itinerary that ran like clockwork from start to finish. The Emerald Radiance is a modern, well-maintained ship, with the cabins and public areas decorated to a high standard and kept spotless by the diligent house-keeping team. The hardworking and attentive crew could not be faulted in their desire to provide the best holiday experience to all passengers, with a “can-do” attitude that radiated from the captain down to all areas of his ship. The range of food and drink was superb, and (as with other Emerald cruises) used locally sourced ingredients. There was a wide-ranging selection of trips to choose from (some included and some at additional cost) and the on-board entertainment was also well received. The weather was good for almost all the week, which helped. Whether you’re new to river cruising or an experienced river cruiser, I can highly recommend the Douro River with Emerald.
