Overall I had a wonderful cruise. The weather was perfect except for one really hot day. The ports were as expected. Nice and relaxing with no major sites to see but good places to just enjoy. The ship is definitely showing some age but the smaller size is wonderful. I stayed in C2**. I loved staying on the 10th floor. Perfect location for anything I wanted to do. The gym opened at 6 am which was nice. It had ample size and I never had to wait for a piece of equipment. The food overall was very good compared to my last two cruises. I made reservations for 6:20 PM every night in the MDR a private table for 2. A few weeks prior to the cruise Princess changed my dinner reservations to a shared table without notifying me. That was very disappointing. Each night for all 6 nights I had to go through the same explanation of why my reservation did not specify a private table. I only had to wait to be seated one night about 20 mins. The length of service varied each night from 2 hrs to 1 hr. I asked to be assigned a specific table each night but was told that was not possible. Again, a little disappointing. The entertain was not stellar IMO. I usually enjoy the entertainers in Wheelhouse, Crooners, and Explorers. Tommy McPhee was excellent each night in Crooners but the other entertainers were not very good. Each night Crooners was packed with people trying to hear T McPhee. Wish they would move him to Wheelhouse with more room. I cannot praise Princess enough for the efficiency of embarkation. It took me 30 mins from hotel room to cabin. Very organized. Same on disembarkation. I walked off at 6:45 and was sitting at the Delta gate at 7:30. Terrific service.
Enjoyed private tour to Altun Ha and the city center. It was nice. Altun Ha was not as grand as I expected but a nice place to visit. The driving tour of the city center was nice and our tour guide added interesting commentary.
