Embarkation for us was easy, not so for my sister they had no record of her. Took ages to sort it out when onboard she had the same problem and then the next day !

We have been on the R class ships a few times and have to say we prefered the size and space of the Riviera. The cabins were a little more spacious and the bathrooms a massive improvement, we found there was plenty of storage and our cases when open flat went under the bed. OUr cabin was kept spotless by the lovely Zulema.

Most areas of the ship were very clean and looked amazing although I found the chairs in the grand lobby to be very low ! Hall ways were a disgrace with the paper peeling off the ways and in many places ripped, such a shame.

Verandah Stateroom

Spotless and kept that way. Plenty of storage and space, lovely bathroom.

Port Reviews

Corfu

Much nicer than I thought it would be, hot and sunny which helped, got a bus from port and spent a few hours looking aorund. Shuttle provided, had to wait ages to get there but easier getting back.

Dubrovnik

Very busy easy to reach, spent hours there looking around. Cable car was worth the walk up the hill it is pretty expensive at 27 euros but worth the view.

Kotor

The ship was docked next to the town, so a 5 min walk and you were in the gates, wonderful town, lovely coming into port. Lots to do and see, walked all the way along the walls and had a tea in one of the squares we thought the prices were reasonable, lots of gift shops, the only down side was the minute you walked in staff would follow you around and keep trying to sell you things, well worth a visit.

Taormina (Messina)

We were there at Easter so everything was closed, however we had the privilege of seeing a parade for Easter and walking around for a few hours, again shiop docked next to town so no need for a ship trip, plenty of taxi's waiting to give people tours and rides.

Salerno

We were going to take the ship trip but saved £150 by getting the local ferry, we walked from ship across the sqaure along the prom and got tickets, it was a shame the weather was so bad as it was lovely scenery. Almalfi was lovely lots of little shops cafes and a beautiful church, however our trip was cut short due to terrible storms the ferry for our return was cancelled and we had to struggle to get a bus back, however it all adds to the holiday memory !! On a nice day I would say DIY, it is so easy.
