We picked this cruise for the itinerary, never having sailed with Viking. Previously, we have primarily cruised on Celebrity, so most comparisons will be with our previous Celebrity experience.

The ship is nice, very clean, design wise almost sterile (who calls a restaurant “The Restaurant”) with several spaces under-utilized, like the Wintergarden. Staff were generally accommodating and friendly, but we have found this on all of our previous cruises on Celebrity. The ship never felt crowded but that may be a reflection of the advanced age of the passengers.

A big issue was excursion availability, many were already booked before we were even eligible to book, which was incredibly frustrating. Pre-cruise customer assistance was very poor. Read more
