A 4 night cruise from Southampton to Rotterdam and Brussels. Good: excellent cabin (mini-suite), lovely steward and restaurant staff. Restaurant food fine. Bad: 1.5 hour wait in a queue to park car. Just not enough staff and staff poorly trained. Only 1 restaurant open for breakfast and only between 07.30am and 09.30am. Entire rest of ship was using International Marketplace (all day buffet) for breakfast - chaotic and impossible to get a table for 6 people at 09.30 so we had to sit separately. Now using a "Medallion App" for menus etc but in-ship Medallion wifi patchy so menus very slow or did not load.

Very full ship and often impossible to get a seat in either Plaza or the bars - which made being with two more elderly people very difficult (we were a party of 6). Not enough staff in bars and unclear as to system. Too few waiters taking orders and queues 6-8 deep at the bar so taking 30 minutes to get drinks. Very rude bar staff when I asked why it was taking so long - was told "they were very busy" and would come back to us to take an order. Waited 30 minutes - they never came back. In the end had to go to bars ourselves to order drinks - with two elderly parents this left me and my husband continually queueing and running around to get stuff for them. When you do order drinks (which you have queued at the bar yourself for) you are charged 18% service charge - this is on top of the daily service charges already deducted - for no service. Waited 1 hour for delivery of two lunchtime sandwiches and was told by staff that this was because "it is chaos upstairs". Didn't bother with ice-cream as queue for gelato bar was 15 deep. The Lido deck very busy so tried to use the "Retreat Pool" only to find that the pool itself was literally surrounded by people drinking bottles of beer so just too intimidating to swim in. All in all very disappointing. My parents cruise 4-6 times a year, often with Princess and say this is the worst they have ever experienced. Deeply disappointing and a stressful experience. AVOID

Cabin Review

Mini-suite - excellent; roomy, well kitted out
