I have been on 11 cruises, not a lot but a fair amount. I have sailed on Carnival, MSC, Royal Caribbean, Holland America and Princess.

My past voyage on Princess was spectacular which is why we chose to use the line again.

As we planned our family vacation we knew we needed a ship that would appeal to my 80 year old parents and my 28 and 29 year old Daughters.

Port Reviews

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata)

Another stop where Princess creates its own entry filled with its own shops and restaurants we left and explored. We found a great little beach in Sousa where we snorkeled, ate and shopped.

The town is also really cute we stopped on our way back from Sousa.

Grand Turk

This port was created on a small 7 mile island where carnival cruise line added its giant complex. Not really Turks and Caicos. Disappointing at best.

San Juan

Nice port and the only one of the four on our trip where the cruise line didn’t create its own minis city.

Princess Cays

It’s own Island, crowded where they charge for water sports and provide a horrendous buffet.

It does have beautiful sand beach and clear ocean for snorkeling. We had a nice day.
