We were looking for a January cruise , but not Caribbean. We also wanted an embarkation port we could reach easily. San Diego was an easy direct flight. We wanted a cruise that was longer than 12 days; and finally, we had never been to Hawaii, so this itinerary checked all the boxes.
We thought the staff, particularly Leo and Juan, bartenders, Tri, our MDR waiter and our incredibly hard working room steward, who, I’m embarrassed to say, I cannot retrieve his name, were all exceptional.
We loved the itinerary with 12 sea days, but that’s not for everyone.
Our VQ cabin was very nice and comfortable. Nicely appointed. I knocked off a star because the room was a bit on the small side. My husband who is 5’9 and not very long- legged could not sit on the toilet without sitting sideways. Strange configuration.
The location of our room was perfect! Deck 10 VQ 10***. We stepped out to the level just above the pool, and had easy access to the elevators, spa, gym, Crows Nest ( for specialty coffee! ) and restaurants.
We were delayed arriving and we’re there for such a short visit it is hard to give a good review. However, there were shuttles available to town ( but walking not difficult) Once on the shuttle we were offered a $20 pp quick tour with a shopping stop and timely delivery back to ship. We did that and it was just right.
