Me and my husband have been on American cruise lines before (Carnival and Royal Carribean) and even thiugh we had our doubts about the MSC we decided to give it a try. Well the try was DISSAPOINTING! I will not ever take an MSC cruise again and giving the choice on the market would suggest the same for others. All the problems and poor service will mostly be noticed by big families and/ or families with children, if you ask me it’s not a cruise made to accomodate families with little kids and babies. First of all, our room “Deluxe” booked for 2 adults and 2 kids was the same size as the room for 2 adults, giving the fact that we paid a full price for our 6 y. Old son and we paid for the 5 months old baby, this is very much not ok! To squeeze 4 ppl. In a room for two is not ok! We would have taken a suite, but unfortunately there were none at the time of booking.

The other problems started from very check in. The personnel was either poorly trained or just that smart but first they kept directing us to wrong directions through the whole terminal and we (4 adults with 2 kids, 5 suitcases and 1 pram) roamed back and forth in order to just come back where it started. When we finally got to the Check-in desk we said that we are checked in (as we did it earlier through the app) and we would just like to drop the baggage. They again got lost and didn’t know what to do with us. One woman gave us the keys to the room and welcomed us on board, then we again asked- “so where should we leave tge luggage?”, she looked at us and asked- “so you did not pass the check in?”. Long story short, she took our room cards back and send us to check in AGAIN, which we did since it was the only available option. It took 40 min. to do all we laready did. Also it seems the workers have a problem copying the room number on a paper, they first wrote the wrong room number on our suitcase, then the restaurant manager (after we asked him yo confirm 2 times that our room is booked for a late dinner) messed up our room number and the whole dinner experience just got more “interesting”. The room itself was not very clean, there were spots on the counter and some old cotton pads in the bathroom. The food is good but the quality and the selection at the American lines was better.
