Our first cruise back after Covid-19

The good - Medallion system is excellent and the phone application works well. Wherever on the ship we were we could be found for servicing drinks and food. All the staff were to the great Princess standards. The food and selection was great and we used both specialty restaurants and rate them both highly. Also the pizzas from Alfredo's in Sabatini's Italian specialty restaurant at lunchtime are the best. All the shows in the theatre were entertaining. We had a drinks package and the cocktails were great (we never overdid them). The internet was first class with no drop outs and the best speed I have experienced at sea.

The bad - Food poisoning from mussels (my wife was the only one that ate them and was quite ill for 24 hours). Kitava was cancelled so we had a two day stopover at Rabaul. Not the most picturesque town (No beach and the weather was oppressive). I think Milne Bay would have been better or an extra day at Conflict Islands. Covid-19 protocols were ignored on boarding as we were not asked for our immunisation status or RAT results. There was subsequently a lot of Covid-19 on board and we caught it on the last days of the cruise and was sick from disembarkation for the next two weeks. Food selection in the Horizon Court Buffet was not as extensive as previous cruises. The Casino is the worst we have experienced at sea. Most of the machines were .03 cent or more where as a casual gambler I prefer .01cent machines. The choices of machines was also limited. Disembarkation was a nightmare. There were not enough customs staff to process all the customers leading to a very lengthy wait to leave the terminal.

Cabin Review

Good size, great cabin attendant. Needed fridge for medication. They replaced it as it wasn't working. All requests were attended to.
