We chose this Tokyo-to-Tokyo 2-week Regent cruise based on its active itinerary, and friends who invited us to join them during cherry-blossom season. We added the 3 days in Tokyo before the departure. Our high expectations were dashed upon landing at Narita. The Regent Transport had 3 busses in the parking lot, yet didn't want to board a150 passengers until all of our flights arrived! Chaos ensued as we waited hours, and it brought for me an agonizing waste of time and a missed dinner reservation at Nobu Tokyo. Things did not improve. Each place visited in Tokyo was too brief to know anything about. We may have gone to a castle, but didn't have time to go inside, even after waiting in line. To make matters worse, is that heavily-accented guides did not use a microphone or have us guests use audio boxes so we could hear them. The ship was lovely, our room terrific, the closet large, the bathroom large and luxurious. The food was good, not brilliant. The menus are all sublime; not so much on the execution. Overall, we had a good time on our trip because we were with good friends; we were going to have fun no matter what.
