This is our first experience with Viking Ocean cruise and we unfortunately are very disappointed. While the ship is very nice and the crew is wonderful, Viking falls short in many categories. First, bare in mind this is NOT a luxury cruise line like Regent or SilverSeas. While you end up paying about the same the experience is much different. Viking is not all inclusive and you quickly realize how costly this can be. Second, if you want a premium glass of wine on the ship DO NOT buy the beverage package. Viking lies about the package. In spite of what they advertise, it does NOT have available a premium glass of wine, only by the bottle at an additional cost. I hate being lied to and that is the end result. Also, if you have a cabin that has a minibar the liquor in your room is the cheapest liquor you can buy and the same for the wine in the restaurants. The furniture in the cabins and through out the ship is very uncomfortable. The food is mediocre and service is spotty. Their free excursions are terrible. Even though they are included you feel like you paid too much. Seating in their main restaurant is not always available as they can not handle a large crowd all at once. The crew is wonderful but that can not be said about the ship management. The beverage manager and general manager are unresponsive and all but useless. After sailing with Viking I have decided I need to go back to the luxury cruise lines where you get what you paid for up front and are not nickeled and dimed for liquor, excursions and miscellaneous items.

Very nice cabin. Unfortunately the minibar in insufficient and lacks good liquor or beer options. The living room furniture is extremely uncomfortable.
