I chose this cruise because I was off for Spring Break and needed a refresh. I have been on other Carnival cruises so this wasn't a first time cruise. First off, there were no welcoming vibes at all on the ship. Some staff were friendly but most weren't. The highlights were the port day excursions. The down side was too many kids running in hallways and making lots of noise. This is pure misery when you want to rest but have kids screaming and running back and forth all times of day and night. They did make an annoucement of not running in halls but it wasn't enforced. I know it is Spring Break and all. But I have cruised before during Spring Break and did not have this issue. Pool area is just too small and crowded. So I never enjoy that area. No options for those that are lactose and gluten free. The breakfast start times were late on port days. I didn't enjoy being on this cruise at all besides the Excursions in Cozumel and in Yucatan Progreso. I couldn't wait to go home from this terrible cruise. I will definitely not be back on Carnival Valor. Still debating whether I'll be back on any Carnival Cruise ships.
The cabin was your typical cabin on Carnival. Bed, cabinet, mirror, bathroom. Small area but comfortable.
Visited Mr. Sancho's Beach Resort. Excellent service and drinks. Staff was friendly. Food wasn't good.
We did the horseback riding and ceynote swim Excursion in Yucatan. It was a nice experience. It was my first time riding a horse and swimming in a ceynote. I had a great time and the tour guide Russel was awesome. Loved his positive energy and the history he shared with us about the Mayans. I really enjoyed this Excursion to the hacienda. Everyone was friendly.
