We chose this cruise because we have friends that had already signed up. We had always wanted to do a river cruise and were unfamiliar with Avalon. However, we found Avalon to be an excellent river cruise company. They had very good communication and were definitely focused on safety. One nice feature was their GoAvalon app on our phones that helped keep us up to date on the itinerary. We had an upper panorama room which was very nice since it has a large window to see the river. It also had a nice bathroom. The beds were comfortable and the rooms had enough space to stow everything away. There were daily included excursions that we took advantage of and all of the tour guides were excellent! There was a daily happy hour at 6:00-7:00PM with certain beverages included with the trip. Other beverages were available at the bar for an additional fee. At dinner there was complimentary wine (both red & white) which was very nice. Some evenings had onboard entertainment - one night we had a band playing dance tunes and the other evening an excellent string ensemble. Overall we found the trip to be very enjoyable. The cities and sights were fun to see and the ship and crew were excellent. We look forward to taking another Avalon river cruise!
