Since I didn't find much information for Gluten free travelers prior to the cruise I thought I would add some here. Arriving at the cabin we found letters addressed to each of us stating that they knew about our dietary restrictions and left a number to call if we needed assistance. Sounds good - but it took several days calling to get through to the number and was told it had been assigned to another department. They transferred me to the assistant chef who was nice but really not much help.

The ship had the following gluten free products. White bread, multigrain bread, English muffins, blueberry muffins and waffles. All were Kinnickinick. The problem was the various restaurants didn't know what they had. Skyline served just bread even when we ordered the Eggs Benedict. They apparently didn't know that the Buffet had English muffins. And on and on. No hamburger buns at all. I did get a hot dog bun once at the Cadillac Diner they said they got it from Cagney's although Cagney's said the next day they had no hot dog buns. I am sure it was gluten free by taste and texture but don't know if it was special stock meant for those in the suites.

Skyline and Liberty marked some items as gluten free but there were so many others that could have been available with little change (leaving out the couscous for example) They did have some gluten free pasta (rottini of course) but there was no where that it was stated just because I asked for it. The food was good to excellent when it finally arrived so no complaints there. Managed to not get gluttened for the whole week so that is saying something.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony

Cabin was smaller than other ships we have been on but there was plenty of storage for this over packer. The steward seemed overwhelmed and didn't clean the cabin as well as he should have before we boarded. (Medicine cabinet not wiped down and food left in fridge.)

Port Reviews

Hilo

Loved Hilo was rainy rented a car and went to the Volcano National Park then to Rainbow Falls

Kauai

Love Kauai have been there before so we rented a car and drove to some of our favorites.

Honolulu

Stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village both before and after the cruise. Nice property but way too many people. Check in both times took over an hour or more (crazy lines and slow check in). I would book my own hotel and transfers if I had it to do over.
