We chose Apex, because we had read good reviews on cruise critic. Pre pandemic we had sailed on Seabourn, Silversea, Viking and our favorite Crystal. Unfortunately, most of the recent reviews of these lines have not been great. Crystal sadly is gone. We did sail on Viking last summer and the cruise was great, but the food very disappointing.

So we decided to try Celebrity Apex. If you don't want to read further I will bottom line it. Book a cruise on Apex, with one stipulation. Add some speciality dining venues. The main dining rooms have very limited menus, the speciality dining venues will give you a better food selection.

We were lucky enough to get a deal on a Retreat Edge Villa. It is really spectacular. We enjoyed the floor to ceiling windows, in the morning we would lie in bed and just take in the view. The Villa is very well appointed with lots of closet space and lovely furnishing. The bed was VERY comfortable. My husband and I have tricky backs so this is not a given. The Villa is two stories with a hot tub on the veranda. The tub had lots of different massage setting and colored lights that made it very pretty to look at at night. There are two thermostat panels one for upstairs and one for down. Also controls lights and shades. tip - to turn on lights in vanity you must do it by turning on lights from LED panel.
