We chose the carnival vista because we have three children that range in age from 9 to 17 years old and we felt that it offered amenities to please all age groups. The problem was, several of these amenities were not open on the boat due to staffing shortages. Also, Carnival now uses an app on your phone to check passengers in for my time dining. Every single day of the cruise there was a problem with this app and wait times of up to three hours for a table occurred. We were not able to visit our first port of call due to weather, despite the fact that it was perfectly sunny outside with no wind, and no visible weather issues that I could tell. Our second port of call was Belize, where they did not have enough water taxis to get us back and forth to the island, and our boat ended up leaving almost 2 hours behind schedule because of this. The final and last straw occurred on the day of Disembarkation, when four of my five family members became violently ill with the Norovirus. This virus causes abdominal pain and cramping, vomiting, diarrhea, and dizziness. We were provided absolutely zero help in getting off of the boat. Imagine walking down eight flights of stairs, carrying your own luggage, vomiting on the stairwells, because nothing was provided to you, there was no way to clean it up, because again, nothing was provided to you, and at one point, I became so lightheaded I passed out on the floor, in which other passengers attempted to help me, but no staff members upon the carnival vista did. If you have a booked a trip on the ship, or are considering it, cancel now! Do NOT get on this boat!
