I had a credit due to Princess canceling our cruise from Sydney to Auckland which was going to expire so I decided to use it for this sailing. I was excited to see L1** was available and even more so when I saw there was no single supplement. The description of this cabin, located all the way forward and in the corner, is slightly misleading, and therefore it seems to discourage people from booking it. I can say with absolute certainty that it is "not" two twin beds, although some might want it. The other myth is that when the ship is underway that you cannot go on your balcony. I'm not sure it's something that you'd want to do, though as it can be quite windy at times. What you can do is step out along the narrow part of the balcony and hang out even when it's windy, or if you want to brave the wind, you can go around the corner to the front of the ship and hang out by the divider where there's much less wind.

At night, they do require you keep the blinds closed, but for those who worry about sunlight coming in, I can assure you that will never happen in this cabin. When I got up in the morning, I opened the blinds and could sit up in bed and watch the horizon. This cabin is so dark at night the lights under the cabinets were very useful when I'd get up overnight to use the bathroom.

I've had issues in the past with service as a solo traveler but I'm pleased to report that at no points was I treated as "just one". With club class dining, I never had to wait to be seated or served and the wait staff was pleasant and took great care of me. The same was true at the bars and while I might have waited a bit when I ordered from the app to receive the drink, it was never "too long".
