Cons:
I’m a big RCL fan, seeing so many good reviews about NCL I decided to give it a try. So far, worst cruise experience. Departed from NYC on 03/28 on NCL Prima. Staff was unwelcoming, felt like they were forced to be there. Food was horrible, tasteless, was not kept at the correct temperature. Meat, chicken, salmon and others were cold. Buffet was understaffed , we had to look for personnel to clean our table, this was ongoing. Everywhere you walked it smelled like nicotine, I guess it was the ventilation system. Kids pool was unavailable most of the times, stairs to the 18th floor were wet. Towel station was unattended, just like the mini golf area. Guest Services was a complete joke. Every visit took about 20-30 minutes to be seen. Most of the times 2 guest service representatives were available, max 3. Stateroom was like a construction site, constant noise after 11pm until 6ish am. It took them over 72 hours to find a solution to the noise complaint. No courtesy call to update me on the noise complaint. Various visits to guest services. The solution, relocate me to another stateroom less than 24 hours before disembarkation. Some areas smelled awful, including the Starbucks area on 7. Seats against the wall smelled like feces. Internet service is like going back to dial-up service. Slowwww as it can be.
Free at sea: unlimited cocktails worth less than 15, 75 minutes of internet, 1 specialty restaurant and $50 off stateroom per port. Fitness center was inferior to Planet Fitness. Small space and very limited equipment, gym mainly consist of treadmills.
