We like the smaller boats, 800 guests or less, that cater to people looking for comfortable rooms, good service, fun destinations, and great dining. Many reviews give Oceania high marks in this regard and we to compare them with our regular cruise line of choice.

Our room with balcony, although smaller than our norm, was comfortable, well laid out with adequate storage, clean and well maintained by the staff. Shower is tiny, possibly 3 square feet--there were folks on board who would have been hard pressed to fit inside. We did lose access to our balcony one day due to painting and cleaning.

The Red Ginger restaurant. Surperb! 5 star review. One could not ask for better food or service. Ranks with one of the best meals I've enjoyed on a cruise. However, the other restaurants ranged from the mediocre to awful which brings down overall review. I was served an uneatable weinersnitchel in the Restaurant--precooked, frozen too long, and microwaved. Waves restaurant was little more than typical fast food. The terrace restaurant was buffet only with a horrible traffic pattern and the food was nothing special, majority was over fried. It took me almost 20 minutes to get a Caesar salad (they ran out of dressing). I also thought that the markup on wine was extraordinary, a $9 bottle of wine served for $50.
