Hi from Oregon. We are a 4-star and just completed this cruise. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Old Town. It has airport/port shuttle and full breakfast. If you don't like sea days this is not a cruise for you. I happen to love them so it's fine for me. We were in a Vista Suite on the aft. Lots of walking so you'll get your steps in. After we disembarked in San Diego the ship came up to Portland, Oregon for a 19-day dry dock. And, it needs refurbishing, I'm hoping it will be as beautiful as the Rotterdam. We have booked 2 cruises on the Koningsdam - Mexican Riviera and this same cruise next Feb. We were a full ship. This was the first time I ever felt crowded on a ship. Sometimes standing room only in the World Stage and difficult to get lounge chairs by the pools. Lots of activities that you can participate in or not. I'm one who is very active. I would have to rate the entertainment a 6-7. I was in the casino a lot and lost but that's to be expected. The staff is absolutely amazing from our stewards, the dining room, Lido, bars, entertainment hosts and casino. I love cruising.
We chose our room on the aft but I don't think we would choose it again. I question whether the Vista Suite is worth it. Not much bigger than a veranda. The bathrooms are the same as the veranda (small).
