We chose this Cruise because we are on the West Coast and leaving from LA was cheaper than the Caribbean. Also, we were able to pay for this cruise using Air Miles points. The Norwegian Bliss is a giant ship full of Staterooms - not open spaces, not beautiful fine finishes, just more staterooms... "pack 'em in like cattle" should be their motto. No seating at the Buffett, wait in line at every dining option, and, unless you want to pay for every meal... get ready to stand in line and wait to find a seat - anywhere! This is our 10th. Cruise over the past 20+ years. The Cruise Ship staff (most... not all of course, but most) seemed unhappy, cold and disconnected when compared to our previous cruise experiences.

From our "transfer" at the Airport, to Tendering into Cabo, everything seemed like no one cared about efficiency, or, no one was trained properly to manage a large group of people. Don't get me wrong... I am not a snob that expects someone to pamper me and kiss my butt when I snap my fingers. I just expect the Cruise Line to train their employees better. For example, the Norwegian employee waiting at the Airport to organize cruise guests to transfer to the Ship. She was standing around the baggage claim area, dressed in uniform with a few sheets of paper in her hands. She simply expected Travelers to find her - not the other way around. Once I "found" her and "checked in" with her I could see that sheet had 3 sheets of paper with names typed out. She could have counted how many people have checked in by looking at the sheets of paper... right? Instead she spent most of her time walking up and down the aisle counting heads trying to separate the group of people into 3 waiting Buses. over an hour standing around watching her head count instead of looking at the paper in her hand was equally funny as it was frustrating! Don't even get me started on the Tendering. We have a tender ticket for noon. Our tender ticket was called at 1:30. We were supposed to be in Cabo from 11:00am till 7:00 pm. Couldn't get off the Ship until 1:30pm and was informed that "all aboard" was 6:00pm. We had to be back at the dock by 5:30 to catch a late Tender. Only 4 hours at a port that was advertised to be 8 hours. Very disappointed, and frustrating to stand around for a hour and a half watching no less than 6 local tender boats lined up to load passengers, but, none of the boats where loading. Is this another example of poorly trained and organized staff??
