We sailed March 11-18th on Harmony of the Seas. I must say that this really was a pretty flawless sailing and we had a ball. Despite it being great, I still have recommendations. We completed the online check in at home and embarkation was fast. I made an error when I booked this trip and chose the guarantee balcony cabin category. We knew we were gambling with allowing RC to pick a cabin for us but we mistakenly thought we were in the hunt for a ocean view balcony. We ended up on deck 11 overlooking the Central Park area. The views were nice but no ocean. It was totally my fault. You never end up with ocean view in that category we were told on board. The room was terrific but you can hear all of the music from the pool deck and the live music from Central Park into the night. Be prepared for that in Central Park rooms and you can’t escape it in that area. I also saw naked people across the park from my cabin etc. Close your curtains people! Cover your eyes! This cracked us up. Hats off to our cabin attendant Soma! I am a diabetic and am in need of ice for my water and I drink a lot of it. Soma kept our cabin clean and stocked with ice for the entire trip even at night! Thank you for going the extra mile!!! We appreciated him!
The ship was a wonder and never felt full despite it being at capacity! There were many great activities available along with terrific shopping and sales. I even enjoyed the Diamonds International workshop this time. I enjoyed having the coffee card! Boy, did I use that café promenade for specialty coffee and Sorrentos pizza was addictive. It was wonderful to visit Sorrentos after a nightly show or for a late night snack. I can’t drink alcohol or soda and wish there was some type of nonalcoholic drink package for folks with health issues.
We enjoyed all of the shows on the ship. Our favorite was the water show “The Fine Line”. The other water show while a bit corny was enjoyable. But the fact that there were two different shows was amazing. Grease was terrific but there were some technical issues the night we went. We also saw two great ice shows. There were always lounges to listen to music. We never made the comedy shows. We always fell asleep from exhaustion and eating. That’s a good thing.
Our cabin was kept clean and stocked. The views of Central Park were lovely but plan to hear noise from the pool deck and the park below throughout the day and into the night.
The Royal Caribbean excursion was really nice because we were able to visit the Mountain Top, Meghan's Bay Beach and do some shopping in the downtown area as well. That trip was well put together and we were able to get a good view of the island.
