Sail Date: Mar 2023
Cabin: Obstructed Ocean View Balcony

We'd sailed on Explorer of the Seas once before and a weekend trip on the Ovation seemed like a good idea. It wasn't.

In brief; dreadful service, low morale amongst crew, lack of cleaning, foodcourt quality food in the dining rooms and far worse in the buffet.

The ship is big and newish but the finish is more like a well appointed caravan with lots of wood veneer and perspex than a cruise ship with a touch of elegance. The weekend 4 night journey to Hobart and back was blessed with some good weather for a late March departure and that saved it from being a total disappointment.

Cabin Review

Obstructed Ocean View Balcony

Modern but cheaply finished. Aircon inlet which is under the wardrobe door nearest the bathroom was filthy with an epic layer of dust fuzz. Towels, sheets etc well worn and shabby. Balcony covered in a thick layer of salt.

Port Reviews

Hobart

Hobart is great on a Saturday with the huge market and loads of things to do.
