I have enjoyed 10 other cruises on Celebrity, but the Celebrity brand that I know and love did not show up on this cruise. The food was lackluster and with the exception of a few staff, service was disappointing, and at times outright rude. We chose to eat in Normandy because of the service staff, Slavica, Kaminne and Maricar were wonderful and made our evenings! They knew the names of diners, their likes and dislikes... In Craft Social, Nemanja and Sarah were so much fun and provided great service to all. These five staff members really seem to like their jobs and enjoy interacting and serving guests. We did have good service at El Baccio.
It was difficult to get a lounge chair anywhere on sea days - there didn't seem to be enough of them. The speciality seating areas and the for-fee cabanas take up valuable space where there could be loungers.
Our cabin was clean and well taken care of by Puku. We don't like the infinity balcony. Our room was really warm at night even with balcony closed, the shade down and doors closed.
Concierge class is NOT worth the money.
Fort Lauderdale is a great place to cruise out of and spend a day or two before and after. Unfortunately, the homeless population, drunk/drugged people walking the streets asking for money make it feel less safe.
We ate at the Boatyard on 17th street and it was amazing!!! The food, wine and service were all top notch. We sat at the bar and really enjoyed chatting with and watching the bartenders.
