I choose WindStar because I wanted to try sailing on a small ship. This was my third Cruise my first ship was freedom of the seas and my second ship was Norwegian epic and it was a big difference. From the moment we checked in in San Juan there was nearly nobody at the port in front of us at 1:30 p.m. when we gave the person our luggage I think it was at our room within an hour of being on the boat. The room was pretty spacious the cabin had a door that opened to a balcony that was about a foot deep so you couldn't stand on it but it gave great views of the ocean.
Probably my favorite part about WindStar was the guests that were on board. Not to toot my own horn but people on board of this ship were classy and nice I never encountered any Karen's on board. My second favorite was the food seem to be a really good quality on those past two ships I've encountered bad diarrhea and that did not happen on this ship. You definitely have to be open to meeting new people and when you go down to eat dinner if you say you'll sit with anybody they'll get you a seat right away and then you have to talk to strangers which can be fun.
One of the main reasons I chose this Cruise was because every single day you were at a different Island there was no sea days.. but unfortunately that was not the case for this Cruise when they got to Little Bay, Montserrat the captain said he couldn't get us to the island safely because of the swells and the tenders were going to get tossed around once they got to the islands dock. Which was kind of a letdown because that was one of the islands on this cruise I had not been to.. Windstar prides themselves in their small ships and being able to get to places other ships can't and yet it was an amazingly beautiful day and they couldn't even get to this seemingly simple place.. they took us to St Kitts which although not ideal was still not there worst.
I thought the cabin was great like I said I enjoyed that quasi balcony.
