This is my second Carnival cruise on the same ship and the Vista never fails to disappoint!
The staff was kind and helpful, especially with our party of 7. We tried all the specialty dining restaurants and the main dining hall and the service was exceptional, especially with dietary restrictions and making sure our food was to our liking.
Special shout out to Jocelyn, our Mayan Cuisine Experience tour guide in Cozumel, for being the sweetest and most fun tour guide I've ever had on Carnival. If you love food and learning about Mayan culture, definitely recommend this excursion! So much delicious food with an educational and cultural experience.
Galeano Cafe just 10 minutes from port town is a MUST stop for your caffeine fix and delicious food! Definitely the best part of my day in Roatan.
Next time I go here, I definitely will be booking either a cruise excursion or choosing a nice (more expensive) beach restaurant on West Bay beach. I trusted the taxi guys we found to take us to an affordable ($15 for chair, umbrella, entry) beach restaurant on West Bay but it was definitely a mistake. Peddlers constantly hounding us and hustling for massage. Massage women would touch you without your permission which I found incredibly uncomfortable and unsafe. Other beach restaurants and shops on the beach were beautiful and relaxing! Roatan is gorgeous but definitely need to choose where I spend the day more carefully.
Booked a Cave Kayaking excursion with V.I.V Tours! The excursion was the highlight of our trip. Tour guides were nice but could have done a better job at keeping an eye on their guests. Definitely was a plus to have a private tour for Cave Kayaking/Tubing instead of the larger group tours because we moved through the cave systems easier and more privately. Tour guide brought us to a swimming spot and we got to enjoy it all to ourselves for a long while! He also took us to a secret smaller cave you can't go in with bigger groups. Overall, experience incredible, just wish our tour guide was a little more careful and patient.
Went to Playa Punta Morena on the opposite side of the island in the morning to enjoy some beach and drinks before our booked Mayan Cuisine Experience in the afternoon! Playa Punta Morena is gorgeous with free entry and plenty of food/drinks/shops/tastings to enjoy. The beach is not as swimmable as the other side of the island but still a beautiful sight. Carnival cruise excursion "Mayan Cuisine Experience" with tour guide Jocelyn was so incredible as well. Jocelyn was very kind and an absolute joy to have on the tour. Made a new friend in Cozumel, and also got to enjoy delicious Mayan food with a cultural educational experience!
