This was our 3 time on Paradise. We live close to the port so it's a convenient vacation. I would say this cruise that the food was bland. Nothing to brag about. Our first evening in the main dining we had beef brisket which was delicious, but that is the only meal that really stuck with us. The ship was clean, staff friendly, entertainment was great (never had a bad experience on Carnival with entertainment). It was a spring break cruise - so we knew it would be a packed ship. Only complaint about Paradise (other ships have a better policy) is that people place towels on the lounge chairs and rarely use them throughout the day. People were obnoxious about blocking off chairs. Other Carnival ships policies are that you cannot reserve lounge chairs and leave them unattended. If they are left unattended for 30 minutes - your items are removed and located at the towel huts.
When I called prior to cruising about the wine bottle policy I was told we could each bring a 750ml bottle on in our luggage (as we did in the past). I was told wrong! Our wine was confiscated and we never got it back. Now wine has to be carried on boar. Who wants to carry around a wine bottle for a few hours while waiting to board/ room to be ready. Dumb.
I am not a fan of the app, having to sign in for dinner, or use the app for the itinerary. I am old school and like a paper copy in my room each day. When on vacation I don't want/need my phone in my hand all day! They no longer provide your sail pins, complementary water, or free drink vouchers in your room for gold status. You have to go get those things from Pixel and the bars.
