My wife Cathy and I joined daughter-in-law Stacey, granddaughter Sarah, and Grandson Billy for a 4 day cruise on the MSC Meraviglia, leaving from from nearby Port Canaveral, over the kids’ spring break from Seminole High School.
Day 1 (3/12/2023) Stacey picked us up on the way to the port. We arrived a bit after 10am, checked our luggage, and parked in handicap parking. Due to Cathy’s rollator, we were among the first to arrive on board and went to deck 15 for an early buffet lunch. I discovered that I would have to eat fish to maintain my Pescatarian/Keto diet. We found the Meraviglia to be a beautiful ship, outside and inside. We toured the ship somewhat and then entered our cabins on deck 9, port, forward. Cathy and I were quite happy with our stateroom. We ate dinner at table 234 in the Waves dining room. Our waitstaff were friendly and very helpful. I discovered that my drink package included a large bottle of Pelligrino, which I had each night. We turned in early. I had filled my thermos with hot water on deck 15 to make our Sleepytime Tea before sleep.
Day 2 (3/13/2023) I awoke at 4:20am and headed up to the track on deck 16. I ran/walked for an hour. After running, I grabbed a cup of coffee and wandered around the pool area of deck 15. We had ordered room service breakfast. I had wanted some peanut butter, but it didn’t come. We did have coffee and Cathy had two croissants. We arrived at Nassau at around noon. Billy and I got off for a catamaran/snorkeling trip. Billy had a good time snorkeling. I thought the water was too choppy for fun time in the water and just remained on the boat. After dinner we went to a great singing and dancing show in the ship’s theater. We repeated our tea ritual before sleep.
