With storms the week prior, we were certainly lucky in our timing for calm seas, endless sunshine and no rain during the seven days we sailed from Brisbane to New Caledonia and return.
We prepaid for the Cloud 9 Spa package.
The Cloud 9 Spa was well appointed with a myriad of wet, dry, warm and cool spaces to relax and enjoy. A nice number of guests meant that the experience was neither isolating nor crowded. The massages were a little bit expensive (especially relative to other costs on board) although very good in delivery. Sometimes intrusive suggestions to upsell various add ons were politely declined.
Having paid more but not excessive, we opted for a Cloud 9 Spa Suite. For cruise ships where space will always be at a premium, the room could be considered large, bright, well appointed and with oodles of storage space. The bed and pillows were comfortable, the desk space usable, full block out curtains, large balcony, swivel tv, fridge, couch and coffee table meant we had all the amenities we needed. One Australian power point only seemed a bit stingy (take an adapter if you have a lot of devices) but 4 USB charging ports by the bed was a nice touch. The size of the walk in robes meant that even large suitcases could be hidden away for the voyage. Our Stateroom attendant, Kormang was friendly and attentive and the room kept spotless on its once daily clean.
