I doubt that we will ever sail in this category again. We booked while ships were sailing half empty and got a big discount thru the casino. Our go to suite ( when available) has been the Celebrity suite especially on the hump( big balcony). Somehow I thought A Royal suite would be more special. You had the tiniest balcony with two of the most uncomfortable chairs ( no lounge). And considering that the retreat has insufficient shade and it’s a nightmare to find a lounge or sofa in the shade you had to go upstairs (16) before breakfast. The great thing about the suite 12105 was it was steps from Luminae , had a bathroom with large walk in shower and additional powder room. The lighting in the bathroom was terrible. We had a lot of creaking in the walls. Our butler and steward were excellent although nothing special was done for us. Because this category suite includes unlimited specialty restaurants we only ate two dinners in Luminae . We ate one night at Fine cut ( a misnomer with no prime meat although The diver sole was good) Le Petite Chef ( a lot of fun) Raw on Five ( excellent oysters and sushi and seafood towers) Rooftop Grill ( book while in port or it is too windy) Le Bistro for a delicious lunch) . Eden was also very good. Eating all over the ship was great as dinners in Luminae were not great. On the Edge class you can’t order off the MDR menu as the kitchen is on the opposite end of the ship. There are some always available items. Entertainment was spotty. Ukebox and Brandon and James ( singer with cello) were wonderful but the stage shows were just awful. A shame because the kids were so talented. We actually got off the ship for Cartagena ( ships excursion) and Curaçao which we enjoyed. The retreat lounge had two excellent concierges, Jonathan and Mike but there are no snacks other than a continental breakfast and tea late in the day. Would it kill them to leave a plate of cookies, cheese and crackers and fruit out? its great that there is no smoking in the casino. We had a great time because the guests were friendly and we played trivia every day with a nice group . i don't feel the entertainment staff did anything special ( for the Oscars for example). I don't think the Royal Suite is worth the hefty price.

Cartagena (Colombia)

Very interesting, well done ships excursion

Curacao

Took a taxi from the ship directly to down and back. Worth the money ($20). Enjoyed shopping and walking around
