Sail Date: Feb 2023
Cabin: Aft-Facing Penthouse with Large Balcony

This cruise was scheduled and rescheduled several times due to Covid and, in the end, exceeded our expectations! We were so lucky with sunshine, smooth seas and abundant sea life and the crew capitalized on all of it.

Cruise paths were modified to take us where the whales and other sea life were feeding and we enjoyed magnificent days exploring the Antarctic waters and seeing countless whales, seals, penguins and birds. The narration by the educators on board was excellent and their excitement over the abundance of sea life was wonderful. We were a very lucky group! They narrated from sunup to sundown, helping everyone observe the wonder of this region.

We were apprehensive to book a cruise with so many days at sea but these days spent in Admiralty Bay and the islands of Elephant, Livingston and Deception, were an experience of a lifetime!

Cabin Review

Aft-Facing Penthouse with Large Balcony

We had a forward facing penthouse with large balcony and loved this room. It was perfect for viewing the spectacular scenery and big enough that friends could join us. It is also quiet at night unlike the aft cabins that are over Bliss Lounge. The nicer accommodation and perks were thoroughly enjoyed since this cruise had five days at sea. The free room service was always fresh and delicious and helpful on days with early excursions.

The balcony had two lounge chairs with table and also two regular chairs with table. It was very private so you could not see your neighbors unless you were standing at the rail. Since it is forward facing, there are two doors to the balcony to protect from wind. Some days we had everything open all day and some days it was too windy and had to be closed. Our range of temperatures went from 95 in Buenos Aires to the 20’s during the night in Antarctica.
