We chose this cruise because we could not beat the price! First I want to point out that the ship was absolutely beautiful and our balcony stateroom did the trick. Though, MSC has not grasped that in the states one of the important things we like is efficiency. The lines, the lines, the lines! You will not get a drink when you want one. They also don’t have anything. It’s a fun lotto of disappointment! Any bar you go to they might have it, they might not. It can be anything from Dr Pepper, lemonade, Miller lite, ice, etc. on their island, the lines were so obnoxious that people were leaving and going back on the ship. They close down bars randomly and don’t fully staff anything. At dinner, the service was absolutely terrible. Our first night we did not all get what we ordered, some things just don’t come out and there’s no server around for you to ask. Also, the theme at dinner is dry throat. They give you one small glass of water with no ice and then disappear. No refills, you have to advocate for yourself. Then at the end when they finally brought dessert, as they set it down they told us we had 5 minutes to eat it and had to leave for the next seating. We weren’t taking forever, it was them and their lack of service. The next few nights we embraced the suck and brought cards and played card games while waiting for dinner. It kept us entertained. Still not everything ordered came out, my son just never even got his meal last night. He asked multiple times for his dinner and they just never brought it. It’s honestly the most bizarre thing.
Other weird quirks I wish I knew about MSC:
- No washcloths in your room, bring your own
Good balcony room. Only nasty thing was that there was a moldy drink inside of our ice bin from a previous cruise. So they don’t clean real good.
