Overall the cruise and destinations were lovely but the onboard billing and support after the fact were so bad that I will no longer cruise with them.
Just took my last cruise with Princess - they charged me for a bottle of wine we never got, made FIVE attempts to get it taken off the bill while onboard and have emailed and called. It has been 6 weeks since I filed complaint with them with no resolution. HUGE hassle to deal with. Book with someone else - not worth the hassle. Impossible to resolve billing issues after you leave ship (items taken off invoice onboard were later added back on). Have traveled on cruises with Celebrity, AMA, Viking and Holland - some cruise lines multiple times. Have NEVER had this happen on any other cruise line. Complaint filed with BBB - inexcusable the length of time this is taking to resolve. The query I filed on Jan 30 did not get logged into system until Feb 15 was advised that it would take another 6 weeks to resolve. There were 8 of us traveling together. We spent over $10,000 - customer service for billing is non existent.
Cabin was lovely but shower was so small we ended up using the shower in the gym area. I weigh 137 and am 5.5 feet tall. Entire bathroom would get wet if you tried to shower. Closet was huge - maybe on next remodel steal some of that closet space for the shower?
We traveled to the Mayan ruins. Bus AC was lacking and they handed you a lukewarm water when you got out to visit the site. The Mayan ruins themselves were amazing. So overall still worth it. They had plenty of tenders to get you off the boat. The tenders held at least 100 people so no worries about going in to town. Port is ok (I am not a shopper) city is dirty and not worth visiting.
We did our own thing in Cozumel - ate a delicious lunch on the beach. We have been to Cozumel at least 5 times so just wanted to take it easy. Please note there are high winds in January and snorkeling and diving frequently get cancelled or visibility is sketchy.
My favorite port - we went to the beach at Tabyana Beach in West Bay and the snorkeling was phenomenal. We have been diving and snorkeling all over the Caribbean and this was the best we have ever done. If we were to do it again, we would likely just do it on our own as the included lunch was not worth it. Cost was $75 pp included transportation and lunch. Still had to rent snorkel equipment and tip snorkel guide. If do it on your own and share a cab around $100 round trip - GREAT seafood restaurant next door - we opted to skip their sub par lunch. Bring your own snorkel gear. The snorkel guides are well worth whatever you want to tip them. They hauled our 72 year old sister all around the reef on a life ring - she could not have gone otherwise. They know all the best spots and feed the fish - they are masters of the reef!
