My husband and I cruise quite often and we have tried several companies. Our favorite so far is Royal caribbean. When deciding to try the MSC seascape we were excited as the ship was brand new and looked beautiful from all of the photos. Boarding the ship was more hectic than I'm used to and there was a delay of more than an hour. Our rooms were not ready until after 2:00 p.m. and when we got to our cabin it was only half cleaned. We left our items and went out to explore the ship and when we came back we found the room was still not fully cleaned. All of the previous passengers items were still in the drawer where the blow dryer is kept including wrappers dirty silverware and receipts. We learned that beach towels or pool towels had to be delivered to your room each day and after calling three separate times we finally on the third day got a clean set of towels. That only happened one more time during our stay even after requesting several times.

We purchased the drink package and upgraded it to the best one we could get. However the lines to the bar were very long, bartenders paid no attention to who was there first and there was absolutely no service at any of the lounge chairs. At night before dinner we still had to go to the bar to get a drink even though we were seated at lounge areas with the exception of one area on the 8th floor where we seem to be able to get a server to come to our table. We we're given a 9:30 p.m. dinner time and try to switch it with no luck. Then we decided we would try the specialty restaurants but we're only able to get in two nights at two of the lesser restaurants. Apparently all of the other nights were booked the rest of the cruise in the specialty restaurants.

It was very frustrating to find out that breakfast was only served in the buffet and you had to literally fight to find a table, fight to find someone to bring you a specialty coffee and deal with people being extremely rude butting in lines at the buffet. The food was very very good in the buffet, better than most cruise ships that I've been on but it was upsetting to have to deal with fighting for food every morning. Room service was expensive and the menu was limited. We found the same for lunch. Most other cruise ships I've been on there's a dining room for every ship to have breakfast in and relax and have food served to you before you start your day, plenty of options for restaurants for lunch including specialty upgrades. This was not to be on this ship. It seemed they are more concerned about packing people in than finding spaces for them. I will never sail with this cruise line again.
