I've been on a lot of cruises with companies like Royal Carribean, Norwegian, Celebrity, Carnival, and Princess and wanted to give MSC a try because their itineraries seemed a little more exotic. Checking in was pleasant and the balcony room was generous but thats where it begins and ends.
The service on this ship was terrible in the main dining room and buffet. The food was horrible, the wine was cheap and barely drinkable and the masses of people were terrible. If this is what the big ships are like, you can keep them. People were pushy, rude, and loud along with the masses of children who were running down the halls, stomping around late at night, jumping on couches and screaming at dinner. The noise level was just horrendous. The pools and hot tubs were so full it made me want to wretch. No thank you. Admittedly my imagination ran away with me when looking at the kiddie pool but the adult pool was pretty full with people consuming large amounts of alcohol. Thankfully there was only one "sea day"
Add to this frenetic atomosphere, the food is Denny's coffee shop level and the dining room service was non existant. On the first night after two hours of waiting to be served, I had to chase down the waiter to pay my wine bill. He just waved me off. Trust me it wasn't worth the free glass of wine. When I realized I had to work way to hard to convince myself I was "having a good time," we left never to return. This is only day one.
