The Good: Radiance of the Seas is a beautiful ship and this was the Captain’s second sailing on this ship. He was very visible and friendly. All of the crew members were happy to see us and very professional. The food was good in the MDR and Windjammer. The shows were wonderful, including The Piano Man, City of Dreams, Tango and a tribute to Frankie Valle and the Four Seasons. Some of the best shows we have seen on a ship! The 10-day itinerary was fun, with destinations like Colon, Panama, and Cartagena, Colombia, plus the usual Costa Maya, Roatan and Cozumel.
The Bad: We were surprised that our balcony cabin 7580 had a large sheet of metal that formed a roof over the lifeboats directly below us. This kept us from seeing any docking activities or the water directly below us. For us, this is part of the fun of a balcony. We could clearly see the horizon, but nothing near the ship. Please see photos attached. Also our cabin was constantly uncomfortably warm. We kept the thermostat as cold as it could go, kept the balcony door closed, and kept the balcony curtain closed, but it never cooled down. We called engineering and reported it, told our cabin attendant twice, and got 2 cards in our door saying “repairs are completed”, but the cabin never cooled down.
